Shaquille T. McNair Background

Shaquille McNair is current student at year up, a non profit organization that help young adults transition to the corporate world. Shaq was born in San Diego California and moved to Chicago in 1998 on the south side. His greatest strength is creativity and he loved creating new ideas that can enhance the current assignments

On his spare time Shaq writes poetry and loves listening to jazz music. His favorite kind of poetry is dark fantasy and he was inspired by edgar allen poe, from there he began to write his own poetry. He also did spoken word and acted in grammar school for five years.

Before year up Shaq was in the National Guard and attending school. In the national guard he was a 11C, which is a indirect infantry mortarman for three years. Shaq attended Northeastern university for his first semester of college but eventually transferred to harold washington. During his northeastern days he majored in media, where he did acting after leaving northeastern he figured he didn’t want to do that anymore and became a business administration major at harold washington.

Shaq believe that his motivation to learn can inspire others to work harder and achieve their goals. Shaq's focus is the software track at year up. In the future he hopes to become a software engineer. He is currently pursuing his MBA at harold Washington college, then he’s going to minor in computer science for his bachelor's.
